Host A Party
Blue Hydrangea Tea Party hostesses hold tea parties on the Saturday before Mothers’ Day each year. If you would like to host a Blue Hydrangea Tea Party this year, please fill out the information below so that we can register your party! Be sure to include the beneficiary of your party - This is the agency that will receive your party’s donations.
Note: Our guidelines have been created for hostesses of private parties, where there is no charge to attend. We do not register public parties, where guests are charged an admission fee, unless they are affiliated with an official ovarian cancer agency. Therefore, please report potential misuse of our concept. We reserve all rights to the name and concept of Blue Hydrangea Tea Party; any use, thereof, without the expressed consent of representatives of Blue Hydrangea Tea Party is strictly prohibited. Blue Hydrangea Tea Party may not be used as a way to generate personal income.

STEP 2:
Visit the Hosting Tips section of our website for more information about invitations and planning and hosting your tea party.
Please note that each guest’s donation should be made in the form of a check made out to the agency for whom the funds are designated - not to the hostess and not to Blue Hydrangea Tea Party. Also, make sure that the words “Blue Hydrangea Tea Party” are written on the memo line of each check.
**There are several reasons for this directive. One is so that your guests’ cancelled checks can be used for tax purposes. Another is so that each contributor can be thanked properly by the agency receiving the donation. And, yet, another is for reasons that affect us all - accountability. Blue Hydrangea Tea Party is not a charity and does not accept donations from the public at large. But, it is helpful for our name to be associated with the many donation checks received so that the various agencies can create a “line item” to account for funds generated through Blue Hydrangea Tea Party, our national fundraising vehicle for ovarian cancer awareness and research.**
STEP 3:
After your party, total the contributions received, note the amount collected, and mail all of the donation checks to the appropriate mailing address for your beneficiary in a padded, mailing (10X13 or larger) envelope. Write the letters “BHTP” on the lower left corner of the mailing envelope.
STEP 4:
The final step in the process is to report to us your tea party’s total contribution and the name of the benficiary who received it. Also, if you will, send us any photos from your party that you are willing to share with visitors to our website.
**We would like to create a mailing list for a future Blue Hydrangea Tea Party newsletter, so please ask your tea party guests if they would provide a mailing address and/or email address to us. You can simply supply a sign-up sheet and mail it to us via the US Postal Service. Our mailing address is located in the Contact Us section of this website**
